Your purchase of a Bedtek bed involves making two independant choices - a style choice and a 'sleep system' choice [mattress and posture-slats] - because all Bedtek beds are sold separately as:

1. The Bed Frame. (timber, leather, fabrics, etc.).

Our Swiss partners Hasena AG, and Swissflex and German partner Ruf-Betten, manufacture our Bedtek bed frames and accessories. High-end European beds are generally manufactured and supplied without mattresses and posture slats - these being supplied by independent mattress and slat manufacturers. As such, bed frames are sold with the equipment and hardware to support slatted frames and are priced as furniture items - ie without a mattress and without posture slats. Mattresses and posture slats are generally made by the same manufacturer and are sold as matched 'sleep systems'.

2. The "Sleep System" contains a mattress [full-width or side-by-side half-mattresses] and flexible posture slats [standard, manual adjustable or power-electric adjustable]. From Queen size upwards, it is assumed that two people will be regularly sleeping in the bed. For optimal performance, each person needs their own independent posture-slat suspension, because it is the posture slat that conforms individually to their body and sleeping position without disturbing or compromising the position or sleep of the person lying next to them. The posture-slat also absorbs movement from the individual, thereby eliminating partner disturbance caused by tossing and turning.

We regard the posture slat as an important part of the complete system system. Our German and Swiss partners [including Lattoflex who invented the first posture slat back in 1958], provide us with the best sleep systems in the world.
